After negotiation in 2014, Salinas was contracted because of our exceptional reputation as a leading taxiway, runway, apron, and airfield paving company to install 26,100 SY of new concrete apron pavement for new MV 22 rotary aircraft squadron. Work includes High Temp Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) in variable depth, width and reinforcement. Methods of installation included both slipform and hand placement. Due to unforeseen soil conditions Salinas had to complete it’s work in 3 mobilizations that spanned over the course of 18 months. Salinas was also charged with installing over 2500 Stainless Steel “Hat” Style Tie Downs in the apron.
