In the fall of 2012, Salinas was contracted to perform work for Watterson in the remote area of Faribanks, AK. Scope of contract was to install 13.5 acres of new airfield apron, taxiway and runway pavement for rotary aircraft. Work included Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) in variable depth, width and reinforcement. Methods of installation included both slipform and hand placement. Given the unruly nature of Alaska’s weather Salinas’ work had to be installed in a shortened summer timeframe plagued by early rain. Salinas met and exceed the demanding USACE standards for airfield paving. Contact us today for help on your next construction apron project.
